Love’s Whimsy

Silent Yearn

though the day be long

precious heart may now belong

let her smile, sweet song

The Pull

A sense of force,

an energy driven

beyond the notion

of a careless love affair.

Oh would we so often

avoid words, definitions

in order to present our

selves in calmest light

In how we smile,

we wake with dreams

carry us through our day,

in order to find sweet love.

Would that I know her heart

is resistant yet the yearn

I feel is not only my own,

but the pull, the wish, hope.

I would that I knew just how

might my love for you be now.

Walk Soft Sweet

In a glance one night

would my heart become the light

if when then she might.

Wake With a Smile

Quite some time has passed,

when my eyes might open,

and this feeling of love,

all I needed,

began my morning,

sunlight drifting in

suggesting no timeline

only memory

of what is love

her love

her beauty and elegance

that which does

drive my words,

drive me to want to yearn,

give me a certain drive

to find more reason to create

those moments,

those soft, gentle reminders,

of what it is,

she can bring to my life,

in just a glance,

a smile,

a look across the room with

parted lips,

it is that simple peace …

Oh how cherish to wake knowing

she has taught me love like no one other.

I Wish Words

Could we contain the same fervor

if words would translate

themselves into the passion,

my hurting soul feels,

when in recall

I glance for eyes,

I might no longer see.

The vision in my mind,

is lovely,

yet compares little to the

essence of your (her) elegance,

that mystique of woman,

I so cherish,

I so miss,

I would if could her words

capture me in this moment,

the passion,

would reveal the pain.

Because I Said Yet

Though it is true

she insisted

long before I ever began

to imagine

we would travel this far,

and now

we do, we can, we will

as easily as we know

we cannot,

the moment passed,

I’ve cried,

real tears that felt like I could

once again

sense emotion,

that I was real more tangible

than the mechanical

I’ve let my life become.

However simple a solution

there might be to love,

we are bound to the eternity

of sweet confusion,

our human condition.
